Introduction
For Kilombo Villas, which carries the Slow Paradise eco concept, this exhibition transcends aesthetics. It is a rescue of local memory and culture, an act of appreciation and recognition. Eduardo Gilles, co-owner of the hotel, shares that this exhibition is not just a collection of works, but a tribute to the history of the region and the environment that sustains it. For him, Kilombo is more than a hotel; is a guardian of culture and nature.
Participating artists
The artists featured in the exhibition are true treasures of the community, each contributing their unique art:
Janaína Honoria Ferreira
The shaded and airy space is modeled by a designed pattern, a leaf that dances according to the wind, the movements of the clouds and the sun's rays. At night, soft lights emanate from the polycarbonate covering the pavilion, creating a magical view of the three sacred leaves seen from the hotel's villas.
The Sacred Leaves are not just an architectural structure; they are a philosophy in form. They bow in respect for the environment, echoing Kilombo Villas' commitment to life and the preservation of species. Eduardo Gilles, one of the partners at Kilombo Villas, shares that the sight of leaves floating in the forest evokes a poetic commitment to life and the preservation of species, transforming the stay into an educational and inspiring experience.
Marcos Batista de Araújo
Born in Sibaúma, the region where Kilombo Villas is located, Marcos Batista de Araújo is part of the local culture. A craftsman with a unique sensitivity and impeccable eye, he works with coconuts and vines, a classic root of the forest, and his work can be enjoyed in various corners of the hotel. With us, Marcos has been building a unique story with his crafts for 12 years.
Lindemberg Crisóstomo Carlos
Deep stories connect. Lindemberg Crisóstomo Carlos is a cultural activist who left the world of CLT to dedicate himself to crafts. He found his purpose in macramé: in addition to participating in dozens of fairs, the artisan is a decorator at Kilombo Villas, where he brings an attentive and refined look to his pieces.
Severino Costa Xavier Júnior
The name conveys the strength that his work has: Severino Pernambucano is one of the artisans who exhibit their work at Kilombo Villas. In fact, his full name is Severino Costa Xavier Júnior, but it is as Severino Pernambucano that you will recognize him in the region. In handicrafts, their work is made with calabash, coité, coconut catemba, rustic wood, saw dust and other materials that exalt local culture.
José Carlos Dionísio
At 40 years old and the son of artisans, José Carlos Dionísio was born in Ares, but it was in Goianinha that he lived his entire life. Throughout his career, art has always been part of his daily life. Despite working for years in hotels in the Pipa region, he never left his talent aside.
He chose to put art into practice in his life with painting. For him, one of the most important steps he could have taken! Waking up every day to do what he loves was a great achievement for the artist, who with each passing day wins more clients with his art. Using his words, “painting brought balance and is fuel for the soul”.
